Todd,â Michael told us. âWe need to find outwhere she was two days ago, the last time Miss Daisy was seen alive.â
We had to stop snooping around because Ms. Todd and the kids from our class came in. She told us all to sit down and then she started talking about Flag Day. Some countries have really dumb flags. *** . I think she made some of them up.
âDoes anyone have any questions?â Ms. Todd finally asked.
âI do,â I said. âWhere were you two days ago?â
âI beg your pardon?â asked Ms. Todd.
âYou heard me,â I said. âWhere were you two days ago?â
âWhat does that have to do with Flag Day?â she asked.
âDonât want to answer, eh?â I said. âThen you must be guilty.â
âGuilty of what?â Ms. Todd said. âItâs none of your business where I was two days ago.â
âIf you wonât answer the questions,â I said, âweâre going to need your hair.â
âMy hair?â asked Ms. Todd. âWhy?â
âWe need to run a DNA test so we can get the goods on you and throw you in the slammer.â
I took my scissors out of my pencil box.
âDonât be ridiculous,â said Ms. Todd.
âGive me your DNA,â I insisted, getting up from my desk.
âNo!â said Ms. Todd, backing away from me.
âSheâs getting away!â yelled Michael.
So I did the only thing I could do. I started chasing Ms. Todd around the classroom.
âA.J. is going crazy!â shouted Andrea.
âWeâve got to do something!â shouted Emily.
âNever run with scissors!â yelled Ms. Todd.
âGet her, Ryan!â shouted Michael, andthe three of us chased Ms. Todd around the classroom. It was a real Kodak moment.
âYouâre under arrest for the murder of Miss Daisy!â Ryan yelled.
âYou kids are crazy!â yelled Ms. Todd.
âAdmit it!â I yelled. âYouâre a killer robot clone! You want to take over the world!â
âHelp!â yelled Ms. Todd.
âYou have the right to remain silent,â Michael said. âAnything you say will be used against you.â
âYouâre a bunch of little monsters!â Ms. Todd yelled. âI quit! I donât want to be a teacher anymore!â
Then she ran out the door. It was cool. You should have been there.
Ms. Todd is odd.

The Truth About Ms. Todd
After Ms. Todd ran away, none of us said anything for a million hundred seconds. I had never heard of a sub who freaked out and went nuts before. And we got to see it live and in person.
But now that killer robot clone was on the loose. If we chased her outof school and around the parking lot, though, weâd be in big trouble.
Thatâs when I thought of something. Ms. Todd forgot to take that piece of paper she was always writing on! I could grab it and hide it so nobody would ever know about all the bad stuff I did while we had a sub.
What a genius idea. No wonder Iâm gifted and talented.
I went over to Miss Daisyâs desk.
âYou better leave that paper alone, A.J.,â said Andrea.
âMind your own beeswax, Andrea.â
I found the piece of paper Ms. Todd had been writing on.
âYouâre going to be in big trouble, A.J.,â said Andrea.
I picked up the piece of paper.
âIâm telling, A.J.,â said Andrea.
I looked at the piece of paper.
All the other kids got out of their seats and gathered around me. Even Andrea.
This is what the piece of paper saidâ¦.
Iâm not going to tell you.
Okay, okay, Iâll tell you. This is what it said:
