constructed with concrete and glass. The glass is tinted for privacy, but it still gives the house a glam effect.
I feel like Iâm underdressed! Maybe I shouldâve asked where the party would be before I picked out my outfit. They even have valet parking!
After I hand over my keys, we strut to the front door, probably looking like the crew of innocent, naive freshmen that we are. And check it out, there are two bouncers at the door, just like weâre at the club.
âID?â one of them asks.
We all pull out driverâs licenses and promptly get the arm band that says Toddler. This is funny to me. Why we gotta be toddlers? Why canât we just be the fly underage girls?
âI thought you said they wouldnât be checking ID,â Piper says.
I shrug. âI guess I was wrong.â
Actually, Iâve only ever been to industry parties here. With those parties, itâs anything goes. I guess they donât play that with college frat parties.
âThereâs my boyfriend!â Gia squeals as she dashes away from us. So much for Spelman sisterhood! Sheâs dropped me in thirty seconds flat and left me with the Gamma groupies.
I wouldâve dipped too, though, if my very hot boyfriend was at this party. Because there are a bunch of video vixen types who donât seem to have enough clothing on.
I watch as Gia gives her man a hug. He looks so happy to see her, even though Iâm sure it hasnât been long since they hung out.
It makes me miss Sam terribly.
âWho is the hottie with Giaâs boyfriend?â Piper asks.
Meagan says, âMaybe thatâs her Morehouse bestie. Letâs go get introduced.â
Could these two be anymore thirsty? I guess maybe Iâd be joining in with the thirstiness if I didnât have a boyfriend.
Gia holds out her hand to us as we approach.
âThese are my new friends that I was telling you about,â Gia gushes. Must she be so excited about everything?
âO-M-G!â Kevin says. âYou didnât say you were friends with Sunday Tolliver! Hi! Iâm Kevin!â
On closer inspection, Giaâs other friend Kevin is good looking, but heâs definitely not a hottie in my book. Well, not in the traditional sense of hotties. Heâs lacking a great deal in the swag department. I would never kick it with a guy who spells out O-M-G, but thatâs just me.
I extend a hand to shake his. âNice meeting you, Kevin. This is Piper and Meagan; they go to Spelman with us too.â
I thought Iâd go ahead and handle the introductions because Gia and her boyfriend are whispering and giggling about something they donât share. Yeah. Theyâre disgusting.
âOh right,â Gia says, finally rejoining the conversation. âWhat she said. My cousin Hope was coming, but she changed her mind. Yâall will have to meet her later. And this is my boyfriend, Ricky. Ricky meet Sunday, Piper, and Meagan.â
Ricky gives us a huge smile. Whoa. He is incredibly fine! Gia better hold on tight, because I can see the vultures already circling.
âNice meeting yâall,â Ricky says. âCome on, Gi-Gi. Letâs go dance.â
âThatâs what Iâm talking about!â Gia says as she follows Ricky out to the area in the middle of the living room where everyone is dancing.
Kevin sighs. âThey always abandon me for the dance floor. Itâs been like this since the ninth grade!â
âDonât worry,â Meagan says. âWeâll keep you company, right, Piper?â
Piper grins. âSure. Youâre a cutie!â
Kevinâs eyes widen. âYou Spelman ladies are ... aggressive.â
âNo, sweetie. Sheâs agressive,â Meagan says while pointing at Piper. âIâm assertive. Did you happen to see where theyâre serving beverages?â
Kevin points across the room. âThe non-alcoholic beverages are over there.â He
