she teased him as she grabbed and groped at his cock through his underpants.

    “Yes!” he groaned.

“You’ll like this even better.” Desiree went on.

“Get me a beer will you?” DeShawn said as he stared at the screen of his laptop.

Desiree’s lips tightened as her annoyance welled up and she couldn’t hold in the comment.

“It’s eight o’clock in the morning.” she snapped. “And you want beer.”

“Oh for fucks sake!” he shot back in an angry tone. “Is complaining all you can do? You sound like your whining mother.”

“No fucking wonder,” Desiree hit back. “Drinking beer and playing on that computer is all you do these days. When are you actually going to do something to help us have a better life?”

“Whine, whine, whine,” DeShawn mocked as he got to his feet and went to get the beer himself. “You sound like a broken record these days.”

“Yeah, well if you got off your lazy ass and tried to get a job I wouldn’t need to!” she shouted.

“Whatever…” her husband replied as he cracked open the beer and took a drink.

Desiree wanted to scream at him, but knew that she needed to leave for work. She didn’t want to spend all day fuming because of her lazy good-for-nothing spouse, but knew she wouldn’t be able to get the brief argument out of her mind.

Arguing was all they seemed to do these days and it was getting on her nerves. The passionate start to their relationship was the reason she said yes to the marriage proposal six months before. She brushed aside the concerns of family and friends that she was rushing into marriage and was convinced that she could make it work.

She expected DeShawn to knuckle down and make the effort too, but was finding that he just wanted an easy life. He’d been out of work for more than two months now and showed no signs of trying to find something else. It was frustrating for her that he appeared interested only in drinking and playing computer games and that he expected her to fund his lazy lifestyle. She was coming to realize that her friends and family might have been right about him, but couldn’t face giving up on her marriage so soon after the wedding.

Desiree threw a last withering look in his direction as she took her jacket from the back of a chair and put it on. She then walked out of the apartment and headed for the bus stop to catch a ride to town. As much as she tried to calm down and turn her mind to work, DeShawn was still in her thoughts when she got to the office. She went to the small room she worked in and sat down to switch on her computer then stared out the window as she waited for the machine to boot up.

    “Problems at home?”

Desiree was startled out of her thoughts by the sound of the voice and looked to see her boss, Jake, standing at the open door of the room.

“No.” she let out automatically, but saw the knowing expression that spread across his face.

She’d been one of his employees for more than three years and took up the role of his personal assistant around nine months previously. He was around twice her age of twenty three, but they had the same mindset and got on well enough that they talked about more than business.

“He doesn’t deserve you, you know.” Jake let out.

    Desiree let out a sigh.

“It’s OK.” she replied unconvincingly although she knew he didn’t believe her.

She didn’t believe herself. Things were as far from OK as they could be and getting worse.

“Come through in around ten minutes anyway, let’s talk.” Jake told her.

    She smiled at him.

“Sure, I’ll do that.” she agreed.

She wondered if her boss would say any more about her personal circumstances when she went through to his room, but he was all business and talked only about what he required for the day. Desiree sat quietly with her notebook and made notes to keep track of
