the predominantly black neighborhoods. Most people can’t believe I was born and raised in Miami and have never been to any of the many clubs that line South Beach. If my parents had caught me even thinking about going, they would have killed me. Since Brandon is a P.K., we spend most of our time in church or youth conferences. My parents loved him from the first time they met him and found out he was Bishop Billy Robbins’ son. He’s the pastor of one of the newest black churches in Miami. To my mother and father Brandon’s family was on the rise and the two
families got along, they just figured that Brandon and I should be together forever. They think he is so perfect. Little do they know, he is the one that taught me all I know about sex and pleasing a man.
Eric and I walked outside to unpack more stuff out of my car. “Eric, what’s the deal with your girl Michelle? I tried to start a conversation with her and she gave me all these one word answers.”
“Well, that’s Michelle, straight out the ghetto. She’ll get better once you get to know her.”
“Acting like that, I don’t know if I want to get toknow her, she ain’t gotta worry. I won’t say shit else to her.”
“Come on now, why it got to be like that? Can’t we all just get along?”
“Huh, yeah we’ll see. Anyway, what’s up with you being bisexual? The way that girl was all up on that the other night shows me you love the ladies.”
“Oh no my sister, I LOVE me some men. I just have to have my taste of a woman every now and then. If I had to choose one, I’ll take a nice long dick any day. Besides it has a lot to do with my uncle when I was growing up.”
Right then I knew exactly what he was talking about so I just shut my mouth and kept unpacking. Eric helped me take the last two boxes in the house to my room. “So, Tracy, what made you transfer all the way to North Carolina?”
“Well, the main reason is I had to get away from a situation that was just getting way out of control. The reason I told my parents is because Bell University has the best culinary arts program in the country. It helps too that my mother is an alumni. So of course she didn’t protest.”
“Tracy, I can’t even start to think that a girl like you would get caught up in something that would make you leave the state.”
“Eric, we all have our skeletons.”
While I was talking to Eric my cell phone rang. I looked at the caller ID and damn near dropped the phone. Sometimes skeletons come out the closet and get packed with your luggage.
Chapter 4
Michelle
No that bitch didn’t just try to start a conversation with me. The first words out of her mouth to me should have been I’m sorry for walking in the bathroom on you last night. Then I might have a few words for her. But, I see already she thinks she’s too big to apologize. I’ll fix her ass, you best believe that.
I’m sitting on the sofa watching T.V. when Eric walks out of Tracy’s room. “So, I see you have a new best friend.”
“Don’t start. She just wanted me to help her get the rest of her things out her car.”
Walking over to the front room window I asked Eric, “What kind of car does she drive?”
“It’s the new SVT Cobra Mustang. It’s off the hook too!”
“Whatever.” I should have known she was one of those rich kids whose parents buy them everything. Don’t have to work for shit. Just say Daddy I need, and it’s there for you. I feel like if I stay in this house another second, and Miss Thang walk in here, I’m going to kick her ass.
“Eric, let’s go up to campus since classes start tomorrow. This might be a good time to hit the book store.” Upper classmen always got our class syllabus early to make sure we were able to show up to class day one ready to work.
“Yeah, sounds good. Let me ask Tracy if she wants to go.”
“Let’s leave her ass here. She’s all locked up in her room, no need to disturb her.”
“Even though I know you’re trippin’, I’ll go
