on the bed. “We really shouldn’t.”
He leaned in, taking her mouth to his. As his tongue entered her mouth, all thoughts left. Damn, this man could kiss. She felt like she was on fire suddenly and needed more. But they couldn’t do anymore. In fact, she had to stop this right now.
“Jamie, stop.” She pushed him back. “Stop.”
He stared into her eyes. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me.”
“I’d love to see where this would go. Believe me. Stopping this is the last thing I want, but my girls are right down the hall.”
“I shouldn’t have come back here. I should’ve left.” He took several steps back, putting the much needed distance between them they both desperately needed.
“ I’ve been letting lust cloud my judgment. I should know better than this.” Olivia sighed.
“It isn’t your fault. I played a part and should’ve resisted what I feel for you.”
She smiled, happy to know he was having as much a hard time as her. “At least I’m not alone trying to resist this .” Her fingers motioned between them.
“ I’ve never felt something so strong.” He raked his hands through his hair.
“ It’s best if you just go.” Olivia could not risk him being in her bedroom a moment longer, otherwise she’d ask him to stay.
He nodded. “Yes, its best I go. You’re right.”
    “I’ll call you soon.”
She expected him to turn and leave, but instead he came closer to her and brushed his lips to her cheek. “Rest good tonight, beautiful.”
Olivia curled up on the bed, snuggling into her pillow. What had just happened? Jamie coming into her bedroom had surprised the hell out of her. It was going to be hard to be around him and not pursue something. Perhaps she should find a new sitter, and then date him. Because at this point, they’d crossed a line and there was no going back.

Chapter Four

It was almost lunch time and Olivia still hadn’t found the motivation to change out of her old ratty, pink robe. Emily cooed in her bouncer, happy as can be, and Morgan was in the dining room doing a puzzle while complaining that summer vacation was too long. Olivia couldn’t agree more. The few weeks that were left couldn’t go by fast enough.
Taking a sip of her now cold coffee, she knew she had to get off the couch. The girls needed to eat soon and lunch wasn’t going to make itself.
In the kitchen, she smiled when she noticed that Jamie once again took care of all the dishes. She could only hope to get so lucky when she got the next nanny. A knot formed in her chest when she thought about replacing Jamie. Her girls loved him and she lusted deeply for him. But she knew she couldn’t keep him on. She’d call the agency as soon as she could bring herself to do it, and see what availability they had with other caretakers.
Opening the cabinets, she decided soup was the only option. She had to call Eric today. She needed some money for groceries. Hopefully she would hear from the doctor’s office today confirming she had gotten the job as well. There were no other prospective job interviews in her near future.
    “Daddy!” Morgan cried out.
It couldn’t be. Shutting the cabinet, she marched out of the kitchen and there in the front hallway stood Eric with Morgan wrapped in his arms. The nerve he had to just walk in here without knocking. And of course the girls forgave him without second thought.
“What are you doing here?” She tried to ask as nicely as she could in front of her daughter.
“I wanted to come by and see my girls. I missed them.” He looked straight at her. “All of them.”
Olivia rolled her eyes. “Since you’re here, it saves me the trouble of calling. Our cabinets are bare. I hope to start work next week, but I need something now to feed these kids.”
“About our kids, I was hoping to take them this weekend. I get off early tomorrow and I wanted to swing by and get them.”
Her mouth dropped open. The nerve he had to come by and
