    Junie shook her head. “Fuck, no. There’s not enough love in the world. Now, jealousy, that’s a problem. I’m not the jealous type. And neither are you.”
    She looked at Melanie. “I fell in love with you in D.C. Yeah, the sex was great—epic, really. But that’s not all. When I hold you in my arms, it feels right. I care for you very deeply.”
    “I love you, too. Both of you.”
    “It’s settled,” Junie said, brightening. “Let’s work out the details. First off, you’re not moving in and staying until you get stabilized. You’re moving in . Got it?”
    “Okay.”

    “What about Michael?”
    “He sleeps down the hall. He’s only allowed in the bedroom to clean and, when he’s lucky, at my express invitation.”
    “Oh.”
    “Is that okay? Will you sleep with me?”
    “Junie, you know I’d like nothing better. I mean, unless it was sleeping with Michael.” She looked at him and smiled. “It’s just that I don’t understand how I can contribute—I mean, money for food and household expenses.”
    “If you’re not employed, you can’t. So don’t worry about it. We’re doing fine financially. You’ll get a job. Then you’ll get your degree and a teaching gig.”
    “How do I thank you?”
    “I’m going to fuck you every day.”
