an
accident.”
Why did he have to look so damn good and why was he saying
all the right things? How many times back in high school had she wished he’d
say words like this to her? She would have been putty in his capable hands. But
this wasn’t high school and now he was referring not only to her but Andrew as
well.
“Okay, fine, it happened. Where do we go from here?” Part of
her wanted an answer and the other part wanted to hide in a closet until Kale
returned.
“As I see it, in the office we are professionals and can
continue to act as such.”
The knots in her stomach eased. Good, just as she wanted
things to go.
“But after hours, I can’t think of a single reason not to
continue. Andrew loves the idea and so do I.”
Andrew loves the idea. She smiled then. Andrew was
hot and he knew exactly how to touch a woman in all the right places. She was
still a little sore when she sat down even two days later.
Seeing both men on a strictly casual level…could she do it?
She didn’t know if she could trust that a sexual relationship without any sort
of commitment wouldn’t shred her into a million pieces. Dante had broken her
tender teenaged heart already. As an adult, was she willing to risk it
happening again? Then there was Andrew to consider. The tall, blond god was an
amazing lover. From the moment he asked her to dance she had been enthralled
with his good looks and gentlemanly behavior.
When they’d entered the room at Deidre’s ball, he’d turned
into another animal altogether. Her thighs tightened as she remembered the
stinging slaps to her ass. Neither of the men were gentle lovers. They’d taken
her to a place she hadn’t thought existed. A place of sensation and stark need.
Now there were two of them wanting to continue a sexual relationship with her.
What would happen when it ended? Could she still work here
and look Dante in the face every day? It was too bad Andrew didn’t make her
heart flutter the way Dante did. The decision would be a lot easier if her
sights were set solely on Andrew.
She hated being so confused by this. The other night, before
she knew who her mystery lover was, she had wished she could experience all the
sensations on a daily basis.
While they had touched her, covering her with their lips,
tongues and hands, she’d been swept away in a tidal wave of need and desire
that set her on fire.
She let out a deep breath and decided to stop lying to
herself or making excuses for what she really wanted.
Why the hell not? She was a grown woman and enjoyed the sex.
Why not indulge in an affair? There had to be boundaries though; she wasn’t
about to get tangled up in a situation she couldn’t control. She certainly wasn’t
going to lose herself to Dante Parker again. She was fifteen years older and
there was Andrew. He was gorgeous, confident and a great lover. His presence
alone would keep her from falling for Dante again. Dante had made it crystal
clear that both men wanted to share her and she loved the idea of being
showered with their touch.
“Okay.” She sat up a little straighter. She was ready to
fulfill the fantasy of her teenage years and have awesome sex. “We need to lay
some ground rules first.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Go ahead.”
“When this ends, I don’t want it coming back to haunt either
of us. When it’s over, it has to be over.”
“Fine, when it’s over, it’s over.” He didn’t look very
convincing and when she didn’t say anything else, he said, “I can have my lawyer
draw something up that will protect us both if it would make you comfortable.”
It sounded insane, a binding document for when an affair
ends. The whole scenario was crazy but Penny loved her job and her contact with
Dante was limited when Kale was in the office.
“You seem sure this will be a short-lived venture.” His tone
deepened. He sounded annoyed or at the very least insulted.
She merely shrugged. He was right. She didn’t think this was
a forever
