interested in seeing just how much she could get away with him.
“Depends on what the area has to offer,” he said with a shrug, giving her a knowing look that she was very fond of. There was something about him that was getting to her, making her want to scream out in desire and just throw herself onto him. But, there was also something about him that made her nervous. She didn’t want to do something that she was going to regret and all she could think about was Jake. “You don’t have a drink,” he said after a second and she smiled at his clever observation.
“You’re right,” she said.
“You should let me buy you one,” he said with a soft grin on his lips. God, she could really enjoy this man’s face.
They laughed and talked for an hour after he returned with their drinks and she couldn’t help but feel like her entire life had been missing this man. Where had he been all this time? He had to have been hiding out somewhere, wandering around while he wrote for a billion different blogs. She stared at him as he talked and listened to his soothing voice, like it was a balm to her soul, telling her that it was all going to be okay in the end.
She wanted to spend the entire night talking to him, but the alcohol wouldn’t let her. She could feel the heat radiating off him and she knew that there was nothing more that she wanted right now than to get him out of his clothes and to see what it was that he had to offer underneath all of those garments. She could feel a silent, animal power to him that she didn’t truly know how to deal with. It made her hungry for it and it made her want to give him everything that she could right now and she didn’t exactly know why. It might have had something to do with the fact that he was charming, to boot, and that he had the most perfect face that she’d ever seen. There also might be something to the reality that the alcohol was making her think clearly for the first time in weeks, or so it felt.
Over the course of their time together, she’d pulled her chair closer to him and was leaning close enough that she could smell his cologne and she knew that it was the perfect scent. It was the kind of cologne that smelled like adventure, the forest, and power. She smiled as he was talking to her about an adventure he’d partaken in when he was in New York City and she couldn’t help herself. She was staring at his lips, watching them as they moved, revealing the sonorous voice that was so alluring to her, and she couldn’t control herself.
She felt her lips pressing against his and she knew that it was her fault, that she had let this happen. As she kissed him, she knew that she was running a gamble here that wasn’t going to go in her favor if she decided that she was going to play it safe or be shy about all of this.
She needed to be fierce and she needed to show him her cutting edge. So she leaned in, coming out of her chair and leaning into him as she kissed him hard, her lips pressing against his and parting. Her tongue grazed his lips and she invited him to come out and play, to not be afraid to show himself to her.
Heat radiated off of his body like an oven door that had been left open and she loved the warmth that filled her up as they kissed. It was the kind of kiss that she knew she wasn’t going to be able to forget. She could feel herself smiling as she gently pulled away and looked at him.
“Thank you,” he said with a charming smile on his lips, but a bewildered expression on his face. She liked that look. She liked feeling that she was able to fill him with awe and wonder. It had been a long time since she felt like she was able to inspire anything other than lust inside of men. This, however, this felt like something that she could work with, that she could get addicted to. His kiss was passionate and loving, strong, and full of desire.
She wanted more kisses like that. She wanted those kisses over
