in here? No one else is supposed to
be in here.” Her voice was accusatory, and she stood, crossing her arms over
her chest.
    “You didn’t lock the door.”
    “Oh.” How stupid of her.
“I’m not going to hurt you. I have a message to give
you.”
    “A message?”
“Yes, Cinda and Nico wanted you to know that you need
to come to the club in order to get your stipend. There was a problem with the
bank transfers. They’re not sure what it is. I was sent to give you that info.”
“Okay … why couldn’t she call me or just tell me that
herself?” She frowned. None of this was making any sense to her. Why would she
have to basically go back to the scene of the crime, as it were?
“I wanted to see the infamous Anastasia who drank all
the drinks I made that night then destroyed everything in her path.” He had a
smirk on his beautiful full lips. She wanted to nibble on that bottom lip. Her
reaction to him was shocking. The pull towards a man who was a stranger was odd
yet exhilarating.
“Wait, you were there that night?”
“Yes, I work for Felipe. I’m the bartender there. My
name is Bruno Hunter.” He held his hand out to her, and she slowly moved
forward and placed her smaller hand into his. The tingles started from where
his hand held hers and went straight to her clit. She gulped. Sex on a
fucking stick.
When he removed his hand from hers, a golden card
rested in her hand. She held the card up to her face. It was like the card
they’d found in Cinda’s room. Once
Upon a Dream Fantasies: Once the door is open all dreams come true. Step
inside.
Quickly she flipped it over. On the other side was the
image of two wolves. Two? Two wolves? Her head was spinning, and none of what
was happening was making sense other than she knew she had to go get the money
she was due and speak to Cinda. Why else would she go there? Lucien. Lucien
also worked at the club. The card shimmered with a strange gilded light, and
before her eyes the wolves disappeared and her face appeared.
She gasped, her voice hitching and the hand that held
the card trembling. “What’s this about?”
“Come to the club and find out, Anastasia Trumane.”
    “I don’t think I’m welcomed there.” She’d said that
more to herself.
“You wouldn’t have that card if you weren’t.”
“I don’t think I can go. Tell Cinda I’ll get the money
from them next month. I don’t need it right now.” That was the truth, and she
was sticking to it. She’d been smart and saved some money. So she didn’t have
to get the income just yet.
“What a shame. I was hoping to see you there.” His
eyes were twinkling, and damned if she didn’t want to do anything he asked.
“Why’d you want to see me?”
“Why not? Just think about it? There’s nothing a few
stiff ones can’t handle.”
Heat filled her face at the imagery those words
aroused. His expression let in on the fact that he could tell what she was
thinking.
“Drinks, Ana … I meant drinks.”
“Oh, okay. Let me think about it.” She licked her
lips, and she watched his eyes shift to her mouth.
“You do that, and I’ll let you get back to work.”
Before she could stop him, he’d grabbed her hand and brought it to his lips,
kissing the back of it gently, and then he was gone.
She was scared. Not about seeing Cinda, but about
going to the club and stepping through the door. There were two wolves there
waiting, and she sensed for certain one of those wolves was Lucien.
    ****
Damn. Lucien was right. With just a touch, he’d wanted
to pin Anastasia against the nearest wall and fuck her ‘til they were both senseless.
She was beautiful, and his desire to take her as well as protect her was high.
When Doc Fairee had approached them with the way to
get her back into the club, he’d stated one of them had to go. Bruno had
volunteered. Both he and Lucien realized if Luc had shown up that at this point
it would send her in the other direction. The wolf in them both
