much I actually enjoyed writing it .
“It is, but like I said, I am not going to show it to anyone.”
She raised her hands and then let them drop to her sides. “Oh come on, Fay!”  I know she wanted more, but I just couldn’t.
I stopped and turned to her, “It’s embarrassing.” She laughed and leaned into my face. Her lips only a couple of inches from my own. She started to whisper.
“Then why write it?” she asked as one of her eyebrows went up.
I hesitated and then looked up at the sky as some rolling thunder sounded off in the distance.
“To see if I can,” I looked back at her and grinned. “Life is all about trying new things, right?”
She laughed as the first of the big drops came down on us and we had to hurry along and across the street to the café we often frequented together. I wish it had a cool name, but it really doesn’t. It is about as generic as it comes and only has a black and white sign that hangs over the top of it that says 'Campus Café'. I guess out of sheer boredom we had nicknamed it CC, and that was about as cool as it would get besides the fantastic coffee they served at all hours of the day and night.  Coffee is a “thing” that Gemma and I have. She is my best friend, or as close to one as I could get. We went to high school together in a tiny little off-the-map town called Brayberry and we both decided that we would most certainly get the hell out and do the college thing before we even got through our freshman year. It was either that or find a man and do the family thing right there and we just didn’t want it, not at all. Not that there is anything wrong with wanting a family, I guess we both just wanted to experience more before that eventually happened later in life.
We came to college together, and for the last three years we have been inseparable, but…well, things change. I felt as if I may be moving forward when Gemma was kind of stuck in that first year of college mode. She is all about dating and when I say “dating” I mean a lot . She dates at least three to four times a week, different guys and you would think that she is just suffering from ADD in the relationship department. She cannot commit, or even come close to it, and even though we both made a serious pact in high school to do “us” before we considered settling down, she was about twenty-five years from doing any settling of any sort. Me? Well, even though I am totally getting into writing this naughty story, I am starting to think about the future. Not just my career, but a future with someone. Who that someone is, well, that is a mystery. I highly doubt I will find him here. As if I am looking, because I am not.
We stepped into the café and it was packed, as usual. Every table was taken, except for the black booth in the back, so I nodded to Gemma and headed towards it, while she walked up to the counter to order the usual for both of us. One tall vanilla latte, skim milk for her and a Carmel frap, of which I constantly took shit over, because I drink cold drinks in Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall. I don’t care what the weather is like outside. I hate things hot, even my food. I prefer it lukewarm. Maybe it was a leftover from working so much when I still lived at home; I had a part time job from the time I turned fifteen. I always ate quickly, as the breaks were short. I had saved every penny I made too, for this, for college. I ended up getting a scholarship, but the extra I had saved came in handy, so I regret none of it, not one Friday night I spent at the hardware store schlepping hammers, when others were out drinking themselves stupid.
I sat down and then dropped all the books that I had in my hands when a man sat up across from me, his hair was a mess, but he was…well, he was very attractive. In a “ catch me off guard ” kind of way. I stared at him, like a creeper, until he smiled and straightened his black hair. His hands moved as I studied them closely and flashes of
